Solarpellet®

More value from your wood.

Wood chips become a high-quality energy source, right on your premises. From your own wood, untreated residues and as much electricity as possible from your own photovoltaic system, high-quality wood pellets are produced, largely autonomously, mobile and directly on site.

In between lies the processing, and with it a considerable share of the value added. Solarpellet brings exactly this processing step to your business.

The concept

Why sell the raw material when you can refine it yourself?

Many agricultural and forestry businesses already have the key prerequisites in place. Solarpellet adds a further processing step to this existing infrastructure. Instead of selling wood chips solely as a raw material, they can be turned into pellets for your own use, for energy customers or for regional direct marketing. This way, a larger share of the value added stays where the raw material is produced.

The process

Produce without having to run a pellet factory.

Solarpellet was developed for decentralised use. The operator feeds the plant with a yard loader, front loader, forklift or comparable equipment. The further production steps run largely automatically.

Feed Prepare Condition Press Remove pellets

The control system monitors the process and plans the production sequence autonomously. Little operating effort, more time for your actual business.

Design

Mobile instead of stationary.

Solarpellet is built as a swap body container. This means the plant is not permanently tied to one production site and can be relocated when needed. A dedicated production hall is not required; the essential machines and components are compactly integrated into the plant concept. The business does not adapt to the machine, the machine adapts to the business. This creates flexibility for:

different sites

seasonal use

several operating locations

shared use

temporary use via rental

Control

The machine follows the sun.

Photovoltaics does not deliver a constant output. Solarpellet can therefore adapt its power consumption flexibly.

below 10 kWmodulating power range

The intelligent control system takes into account current and expected PV output, weather forecasts, machine states, fill levels and the energy demand of the individual production steps. From this, the production sequence is planned in advance. As much of your own solar power as possible goes directly into pellet production. The operator does not have to intervene continuously or adjust the plant manually to changing PV output.

Raw material

Flexible with the raw material.

Depending on quality, Solarpellet processes different untreated wood assortments. These include forest wood chips, softwood, hardwood and suitable untreated wood residues. Hardwoods in particular, as well as untreated residues from wood processing, open up additional possibilities. The maximum input moisture content is around 16 percent. If the material is too dry, the integrated conditioning can add moisture in a targeted way. This supports a high pressing quality and the most efficient use of energy possible.

Target groups

Who is Solarpellet particularly interesting for?

Solarpellet is aimed at businesses that want to further refine existing resources and create additional value. The plant is particularly interesting for:

Forester in a hard hat carrying a log in the forest

Farmers and foresters

with their own forest, wood chip or firewood production.

Wood chip storage in front of a biomass heating plant

Local and district heating operators

who already market energy or fuels.

Bags of wood pellets being stacked on a pallet

Direct marketers

who want to extend their product range with a regionally produced energy source.

Cutting timber on a circular saw in a woodworking business

Wood processing businesses

with suitable untreated wood residues.

The best conditions exist where raw material, PV energy, machinery and sales channels are already in place.

This is particularly interesting for businesses that:

  • want to test pellet production first
  • produce seasonally
  • do not want to tie up capital in the long term straight away
  • want to use the plant together with other businesses

Models

Buy or rent.

Solarpellet can not only be bought but also rented.

Thanks to its mobile design, Solarpellet can be brought flexibly to the respective site. Get started with less commitment and produce under real conditions.

Economics

Additional value from existing resources.

Solarpellet creates the opportunity to build an additional line of business from your own wood and your own energy. This becomes particularly interesting when the pellets produced are used in-house or marketed directly in the region. An additional value chain can emerge:

Provide wood Produce pellets use yourself or market directly

The actual economics always depend on the individual business, in particular on raw material, PV output, annual utilisation and sales opportunities. That is why we do not calculate in general terms. We calculate with your business.

Quality

Pellet quality starts with the raw material.

Depending on the wood used, Solarpellet can achieve pellet qualities in line with ISO 17225-2. Decisive factors include wood species, bark content, moisture and the quality of the input material. The integrated conditioning helps to create the best possible conditions for the pressing process.
